Disease name Osteoma
Fish Red sea bream (Pagrus major), largehead hairtail (Trichiurus lepturus)
Clinical sign Osteoma (ca. 1 cm in size) is observed in the neural and haemal spines, connecting to the vertebra (Fig. 1).
Pathology Probably benign tumor.
Health hazard This disease is harmless in food hygiene.
Diagnosis Confirm the osteoma after dissection.
Other information This disease is common in largehead hairtail (Momoyama and Tensha, 2006).
