Clinical sign Many white and refractile spots are observed in the gill (Figs. 1 and 2).
Parasitology The parasite body is round in shape. It has outer (ca. 300 ƒΚm in diameter) and inner (ca. 170 ƒΚm) rings. The outer ring is possibly formed by hostfs tissues (or cartilaginous tissues) encapsulating the parasite body. Inside the inner ring is filled with small particles (7-18 ƒΚm).
Pathology Infected fish turned over and died shortly after taking away from water.

Other information The organisms are found in the 0- year seedlings of viviparous scorpionfish.
